۞ Say: "I do admonish you on one point: that ye do stand up before Allah,- (It may be) in pairs, or (it may be) singly,- and reflect (within yourselves): your Companion is not possessed: he is no less than a warner to you, in face of a terrible Penalty." 46 Say, "If I have asked you for any recompense, you can keep it. It is God alone who will reward me: He is the witness of all things." 47 Say thou: verily my Lord hurleth the truth: the Knower of things hidden. 48 Say: "The truth has come, and falsehood had neither precedence nor will reappear." 49 Say: "Were I to go astray, I would but go astray [due to my own self, and] to the hurt of myself; but if I am on the right path, it is but by virtue of what my Sustainer reveals unto me: for, verily, He is all-hearing, ever-near!" 50 And if you could but see, when they will be terrified with no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a near place. 51 And they will say, “We accept faith in it”; and how can they attain it from so far away? (After they have crossed the limit of life allotted to them.) 52 since they disbelieved in it before, guessing at the Unseen from a distant place? 53 And between them and their desires a barrier shall be placed as was done in the past with people of their ilk; for they were indeed in disquieting doubt. 54
