The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Cloaked one, 1 Arise and warn, 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 And your garments do purify, 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 Then when the horn shall be blown, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 And children present [with him] 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 May he be condemned! 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
