He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 you attend to him, 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 most exalted and purified, 14 By the hands of scribes. 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 We send down abundant water, 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the great calamity comes 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 on that Day, to every one of them will his own state be of sufficient concern. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 but others will be gloomy 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
