The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
