The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
