The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
