۞ When [Jesus] the son of Mary is held up as an example, your people raise an outcry on this, 57 And they say, "Are our gods best, or he?" This they set forth to thee, only by way of disputation: yea, they are a contentious people. 58 He is purely a bondman (of Ours), whom We have favoured upon, and We made him an extraordinary example for the Descendants of Israel. 59 And if it were Our Will, We would have [destroyed you (mankind) all, and] made angels to replace you on the earth. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol: 25, Page 89]. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy". 62 When Jesus came with Clear Signs, he said: "Now have I come to you with Wisdom, and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) on which ye dispute: therefore fear Allah and obey me. 63 For God, He is my Lord and your Lord: so worship Him: that is a straight path." 64 The various factions among them differed -- woe then to those who did wrong: they will suffer the punishment of a painful Day. 65 Do they only wait for the Hour - that it should come on them all of a sudden, while they perceive not? 66 Close friends, that Day, will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous 67
