NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What drove you to Hell?” 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 running away from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
