In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If you now have any conspiracy, carry it out on Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
