Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 Worship God, have fear of Him and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 and, behold I preached to them in public; and I spoke to them secretly, in private; 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 And He will add unto you riches and children and will appoint unto you gardens and will appoint unto you rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 And Allah has made for you the earth a wide expanse, 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
