The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 he was created of gushing water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
