The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 The piercing star! 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal thou gently with them for a while. 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
