Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is a day in which they will not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
