Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perdition overtake both hands of Abu Lahab, and he will perish. 1 No profit to him from all his wealth, and all his gains! 2 He shall soon enter a Blazing Fire, 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
