The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Indeed, he had thought he would never return [to Allah]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
