And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed. 21 And on the day when We will resurrect everyone together, then say to the polytheists, “Where are those partners (your false deities) whom you professed?” 22 Then there will be no [excuse upon] examination except they will say, "By Allah, our Lord, we were not those who associated." 23 You will see how they will lie against themselves, and all their slanderings will be vain. 24 And there are among them such as [seem to] listen to thee [O Prophet]: but over their hearts We have laid veils which prevent them from grasping the truth, and into their ears, deafness. And were they to see every sign [of the truth,] they would still not believe in it - so much so that when they come unto thee to contend with thee, those who are bent on denying the truth say: "This is nothing but fables of ancient times!" 25 And they forbid others from (believing in) it, and themselves keep away from it. But they ruin none but themselves, and do not understand. 26 If you could but see when they will be held over the (Hell) Fire! They will say: "Would that we were but sent back (to the world)! Then we would not deny the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.) of our Lord, and we would be of the believers!" 27 But no. What they were hiding has now become clear to them. If they were sent back they would surely return to what had been forbidden them, for surely they are liars. 28 And they say: There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be raised. 29 If you could only see when they are made to stand before their Lord! He will ask them, "Is this [second life] not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord!" He will say, "Then, taste the punishment that comes from your having refused to acknowledge the truth!" 30
