Who is more wicked than he who invents a lie about Allah or belies His verses? The harmdoers shall never prosper. 21 The day We shall gather all of them together and say to those who ascribe (partners to God): "Where are the compeers who you claimed (were equal to God)?" 22 Then their excuse would be nothing but that they would say: By Allah, our Lord, we were not polytheists. 23 Behold, how they will lie against themselves and how their forged deities will forsake them! 24 Some of them listen to you. But We have cast veils over their hearts lest they understand it and in their ears heaviness; and if they see every sign they do not believe in it. When they come to you they argue, the unbelievers say: 'This is nothing but the tales of the ancient ones' 25 And they forbid (men) from it and avoid it, and they ruin none save themselves, though they perceive not. 26 If you could but see when they shall be made to stand by the Fire! They will plead: 'Would that we were brought back to life? Then we would not give the lie to the signs of our Lord and would be among the believers.' 27 The truth they used to hide will become all too clear to them. But if they were sent back, they would return to what they had been forbidden. For they are indeed liars. 28 And they say: There is nothing but our life of this world, and we shall not be raised. 29 If you could but see when they will be held (brought and made to stand) in front of their Lord! He will say: "Is not this (Resurrection and the taking of the accounts) the truth?" They will say: "Yes, by our Lord!" He will then say: "So taste you the torment because you used not to believe." 30
