Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the wood belied the sent ones. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due). 181 and weigh with the straight scale, 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
