A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 This is a Book sent down toward thee, so let there be no straitness in thy breast therefor, that thou mayest warn thereby! and this is an admonition unto the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many a township We have destroyed! Our scourge fell upon them at night, or when they were taking midday rest. 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then shall We question those to whom Our message was sent and those through whom We sent it 6 Then We will surely relate [their deeds] to them with knowledge, and We were not [at all] absent. 7 The weighing on that day is the true (weighing). As for those whose scale is heavy, they are the successful. 8 and those whose scales are light will be the losers, for they, are the ones who have been unjust to Our signs. 9 It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give! 10
