۞ And to (the people of) Aad We sent their brother, Hood. He said: 'Worship Allah, my nation, for you have no god except He. Will you not then be cautious' 65 A group of the unbelievers among his people said, "You look to us like a fool and we think that you are a liar". 66 He said: O my people! There is no foolishness in me, but I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds. 67 I bring to you the messages of my Lord. I am your sincere friend. 68 Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed. 69 They said, 'Why, hast thou come to us that we may serve God alone, and forsake that our fathers served? Then bring us that thou promisest us, if thou speakest truly.' 70 (Hud) said: "Torment and wrath have already fallen on you from your Lord. Dispute you with me over names which you have named - you and your fathers, with no authority from Allah? Then wait, I am with you among those who wait." 71 We saved him and all who were with him through Our Mercy and annihilated those who belied Our verses. They were not believers! 72
