The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star. 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
