Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

There is not a region to which We sent a prophet and did not inflict upon its people adversity and hardship so that they may submit. 94 Then We changed adversity into ease until they throve and said: 'Our forefathers had also seen both adversity and prosperity.' So We suddenly seized them without their even perceiving it. 95 But if the people of these regions had believed and feared God, We would surely have showered on them blessings of the heavens and the earth; but they only denied, and We punished them for their deeds. 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 What! do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they play? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99
