Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 These towns-- We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their apostles came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers 101 We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient. 102 Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief. 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 [Who is] obligated not to say about Allah except the truth. I have come to you with clear evidence from your Lord, so send with me the Children of Israel." 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
