Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 “He wishes to expel you all from your kingdom; so what do you advise?” 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 to bring thee every cunning sorcerer.' 112 And the magicians came unto Fir'awn. They said: surely there is for us a reward if we are the overcomers. 113 He said, “Yes, and you will then become close to me.” 114 They said: O Musa! will you cast, or shall we be the first to cast? 115 "You cast it first," answered Moses. When they cast their spell, they bewitched the eyes of the people and petrified them by conjuring up a great charm. 116 Then We revealed to Moses: 'Now, throw down your staff' And thereupon it swallowed up their false invention. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 Pharaoh and his men were defeated and utterly humiliated. 119 And the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah]. 120 They said: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 121 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 122 Pharaoh said, "You dare believe in Him before I have given you permission? Behold, this is indeed a plot which you have devised in this city in order to drive its people out. But you shall soon know the consequences, 123 I shall assuredly cut off alternately your hands and feet, then I shall crucify you all together.' 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126
