The assembly of Pharaoh's nation said: 'This man is a wellversed sorcerer 109 who seeks to drive you out from your land. What would you have us do?' 110 They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) - 111 to summon every wellversed sorcerer to you' 112 And so the sorcerers came to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). They said: "Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us if we are the victors." 113 He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)." 114 So they said: "O Moses, you may cast your spell first, or we shall cast ours." 115 He said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell. 116 And [then] We inspired Moses, "Throw down thy staff!" - and lo! it swallowed up all their deceptions: 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and what they did became null. 118 they were defeated and turned belittled, 119 And the sorcerers prostrated themselves 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron. 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 most certainly shall I cut off your hands and your feet in great numbers, because of [your] perverseness, and then I shall most certainly crucify you, in great numbers, all together!" 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 "And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims." 126
