Now, behold, this [divine writ] has indeed been bestowed from on high by the Sustainer of all the worlds: 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a town without sending down messengers to warn it, 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them; 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
