Al-Qamar 2 of 3
(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 [And God said:] "On the morrow they will come to know who the boastful liar is! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they summoned their [boldest] companion, and he ventured [upon the evil deed,] and cruelly slaughtered [the animal]: 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 Indeed, We have made the Quran easy to learn lessons from. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 as a blessing from Us: thus do We reward all who are grateful. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 They even solicited of him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes: 'Now, taste My punishment and My warnings' 37 In the morning early there came upon them a settled chastisement: 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
