Those who were left rejoiced at their staying behind the apostle of Allah, and they detested to strive hard with their riches and their lives in the way of Allah, and they said: march not forth in the heat. Say thou: hotter still is the Hell-Fire. Would that they understood! 81 Let them, then, laugh a little - for they will weep a lot in return for what they have earned. 82 So, if God returns thee to a party of them and they ask leave of thee to go forth, say: 'You shall not go forth with me ever, and you shall not fight with me any enemy. You were well-pleased to tarry the first time, so now tarry with those behind.' 83 And never (O Muhammad SAW) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fasiqun (rebellious, - disobedient to Allah and His Messenger SAW). 84 And let not their worldly goods and [the happiness which they may derive from] their children excite thy admiration: God but wants to chastise them by these means in [the life of] this world, and [to cause] their souls to depart while they are [still] denying the truth. 85 When a Sura comes down, enjoining them to believe in Allah and to strive and fight along with His Messenger, those with wealth and influence among them ask thee for exemption, and say: "Leave us (behind): we would be with those who sit (at home)." 86 They prefer to be with women who (are allowed to) stay at home during war, and their hearts are sealed; so they fail to understand. 87 But the Messenger and those who believed with him struggled with their wealth and their selves For them awaits goodness and those are the winners. 88 God has readied for them gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: and this is the triumph supreme! 89
