S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad [These letters (Sad etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Quran full of reminding. 1 Those who deny the truth are steeped in arrogance and hostility. 2 How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape! 3 It seems strange to the pagans that a man from their own people should come to them as a Prophet. The unbelievers have said, "He is only a lying magician". 4 "Has he made the aliha (gods) (all) into One Ilah (God - Allah). Verily, this is a curious thing!" 5 The chiefs among them go about, exhorting: Go and be staunch to your gods! Lo! this is a thing designed. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for them? So would they not just ascend using ropes? 10 [They are but] soldiers [who will be] defeated there among the companies [of disbelievers]. 11 Cried lies before them the people of Noah, and Ad, and Pharaoh, he of the tent-pegs, 12 And Samood and the people of Lut and the dwellers of the thicket; these were the parties. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
