Say: Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Or Who controls the hearing and the sight? And Who brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living? And Who regulates the affairs? Then they will say: Allah. Say then: Will you not then guard (against evil)? 31 Such, then, is Allah, your true Lord. And what is there after truth but error? How, then, are you being turned away? 32 The decree of your Lord that the evil-doers will not have faith has already been issued. 33 Say: 'Is there any of your associates who originates creation, then brings it back again?' Say: 'God -- He originates creation, then brings it back again; so how are you perverted?' 34 Say: 'Is there any of your associates who guides to the truth?' Say: 'God -- He guides to the truth; and which is worthier to be followed -- He who guides to the truth, or he who guides not unless he is guided? What then ails you, how you judge?' 35 Most of them only follow conjectures; and surely conjecture can be no substitute for truth. Allah is well aware of whatever they do. 36 And this Qur'an is not such as could be fabricated as against Allah. But it is a confirmation of that which is before it, and a detailing of the Decree, whereof there is no doubt, from the Lord of the worlds. 37 Or do they say [about the Prophet], "He invented it?" Say, "Then bring forth a surah like it and call upon [for assistance] whomever you can besides Allah, if you should be truthful." 38 Rather, they have denied that which they encompass not in knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet come to them. Thus did those before them deny. Then observe how was the end of the wrongdoers. 39 And among them is one who accepts faith in it, and among them is one who does not accept faith in it; and your Lord well knows the mischievous. 40
