If they belie you, say: 'I have my work, you have your work. You are quit of what I do, and I am quit of what you do' 41 Among them are some who (pretend to) listen to thee: But canst thou make the deaf to hear,- even though they are without understanding? 42 Some of them look fixedly at you; but can you make the blind see, bereft as they are of sight? 43 Indeed, Allah does not wrong mankind a thing, but they wrong themselves. 44 And the day He shall muster them, as if they had not tarried but an hour of the day, mutually recognizing one another; lost will be those who cried lies to the encounter with God, and were not guided. 45 And if We show you something of what We threaten them with, or cause you to die, yet to Us is their return, and Allah is the bearer of witness to what they do. 46 And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged 47 They say, "When will this promise come to pass -- if you speak the truth?" 48 Say, “I have no autonomy to benefit or hurt myself, except what Allah wills*; for every nation is a fixed promise; when their promise comes, they cannot postpone it nor can they advance it one moment. (* To empower me.) 49 Say: "Do ye see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten? 50 And when it comes to pass, will you believe in it? What! now (you believe), and already you wished to have it hastened on. 51 Then the evil-doers will be told, "Taste the everlasting punishment. Have you not been rewarded according to your deeds?" 52 And they ask thee to tell them if it be true. Say thou: yeah by my Lord, it is the very truth, and ye shall not be able to escape. 53
