Joseph (Yousuf)
111 verses, revealed in Mecca after Hood (Hood) before The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif. Lam. Ra. These are verse of the Scripture that maketh plain. 1 We have revealed it in the Arabic language so that you (people) would understand it. 2 We recount to you the best of narratives in revealing this Quran to you, even though you were unaware of it before it came. 3 When Joseph said to his father, 'Father, I saw eleven stars, and the sun and the moon; I saw them bowing down before me.' 4 He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy. 5 So will thy Lord choose thee, and teach thee the interpretation of tales, and perfect His blessing upon thee and upon the House of Jacob, as He perfected it formerly on thy fathers Abraham and Isaac; surely thy Lord is All-knowing, All-wise.' 6
