And the king said: Surely I see seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured; and seven green ears and (seven) others dry: O chiefs! explain to me my dream, if you can interpret the dream. 43 They answered, “These are confused dreams – and we do not know the interpretation of dreams.” 44 After all that time, the one of the two who had been saved remembered, he said: 'I will interpret it for you, so let me go' 45 Yusuf, O saint! give an answer unto us in regard to seven fat kine which seven lean ones are devouring and seven green corn-ears and seven others dry; haply I may return unto the people; haply they may learn. 46 (Joseph) said: "For seven years shall ye diligently sow as is your wont: and the harvests that ye reap, ye shall leave them in the ear,- except a little, of which ye shall eat. 47 for, after that [period of seven good years] there will come seven hard [years] which will devour all that you shall have laid up for them, excepting only a little of that which you shall have kept in store. 48 Then thereafter will come a year wherein mankind will have rain and wherein they will press. 49
