The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 THIS DIVINE WRIT - let there be no doubt about it - is [meant to be] a guidance for all the God-conscious. 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 who have faith in what has been revealed to you and others before you and have strong faith in the life hereafter. 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah hath set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their sights is a covering; and unto them shall be a torment mighty. 7
