The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Ra. Those are the signs of the Book and of a manifest Koran. 1 Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise]. 2 Leave them to eat and enjoy life and let false hopes amuse them. They will soon come to know. 3 And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it. 4 No nation can anticipate its term, nor delay it. 5 (The unbelievers have said), "You to whom the Quran has been revealed are insane. 6 Why do you not bring down the angels upon us, if you are truthful?" 7 We do not send the angels but with truth, and then they would not be respited. 8 It is We who sent down the Koran, and We watch over it. 9 We have sent forth before you Messengers among the factions of the ancients. 10 But no Messenger came to them except he was mocked. 11 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty: 12 They believe not therein, though the example of the men of old hath gone before. 13 And if We opened upon them a door of the heaven, and they passed the day mounting thereto. 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15
