The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
