So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 [But the angels spoke thus:] "As thou livest, [O Lot, they will not listen to thee:] behold, in their delirium [of lust] they are but blindly stumbling to and fro!" 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
