And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They said: Nay, we have come to you with that about which they disputed. 63 We bring you the truth, and indeed we are truthful. 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 Then the mighty Blast caught them at sunrise, 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
