And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Surely you are an unknown people. 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 We informed him that the unbelievers would be utterly destroyed. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
