And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the city came to him rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said, "Did we not forbid you to extend hospitality to strangers?" 70 He said, 'These are my daughters, if you would be doing.' 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 And the (cities were) right on the high-road. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the wood surely were wrong-doers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
