▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And We gave them Our signs, and they remained averse to them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the Shout seized them in the morning, 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We did not create the heavens and the earth, and what is between them except in truth. The Hour is sure to come, therefore, forgive them with a gracious pardon. 85 verily, thy Sustainer is the all-knowing Creator of all things! 86 And indeed We have given you seven verses that are repeated, and the great Qur’an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 By your Lord, We will question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and worship your Lord until what is certain [death] comes to you. 99
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
