And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 As to what they did. 93 Hence, proclaim openly all that thou hast been bidden [to say,] and leave alone all those who ascribe divinity to aught beside God: 94 We suffice thee against the mockers, 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99
