Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 storming tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 and the severally severing 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Thus have We determined [the nature of man's creation]: and excellent indeed is Our power to determine [what is to be]! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
