And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Now by thy Lord, We shall surely question them all together 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee. 99
