The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to hew out dwellings from the mountains (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 And all that which they used to earn availed them not. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And indeed, We have bestowed upon you seven of Al-Mathani (the seven repeatedly recited Verses), (i.e. Surat Al-Fatiha) and the Grand Quran. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 For that which they have been working. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
