The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our communications, but they turned aside from them; 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Look not with your eyes ambitiously at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (the disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings for the believers (be courteous to the fellow-believers). 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 Like as We sent down on the dividers 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
