It is He who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and with it trees grow on which you pasture your cattle. 10 With which He makes crops grow, and olives, dates and grapes and fruits of every kind for you. In this is a sign for those who think. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 All that He has created for you on the earth are of different colors. In this there is evidence of the Truth for the people who take heed. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 He has set up on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake under you, and rivers and tracks, so that you may find your way, 15 The stars and other signs also help people to find their way. 16 IS, THEN, HE who creates comparable to any [being] that cannot create? Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those whom they call on besides Allah have not created anything while they are themselves created; 20 Dead (are they), not living, and they know not when they shall be raised. 21
