It is He Who sent down water from the sky – you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture. 10 And thereby He brings forth crops and olives, palms and vines, and all the fruits. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who think. 11 He harnessed the day and night for you, as also the sun, the moon and the stars, by His command. In this are signs for men who understand. 12 And whatsoever He has created for you on this earth of varying colours [and qualities from vegetation and fruits, etc. (botanical life) and from animal (zoological life)]. Verily! In this is a sign for people who remember. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea that you may eat fresh fish from it and bring forth ornaments from it that you can wear. And you see ships ploughing their course through it so that you may go forth seeking His Bounty and be grateful to Him. 14 And He placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake along with you, and streams and roads for you to find course. 15 And landmarks (signposts, etc. during the day) and by the stars (during the night), they (mankind) guide themselves. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 And if you should count the favors of Allah, you could not enumerate them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you do openly. 19 Those whom they (Al-Mushrikun) invoke besides Allah have not created anything, but are themselves created. 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
