Al-Kahf 9 of 12
AND LO! [In the course of his wanderings,] Moses said to his servant: "I shall not give up until I reach the junction of the two seas, even if I [have to] spend untold years [in my quest]!" 60 But when at last they came to the land where the two seas met, they forgot their fish and it swiftly made its way into the sea. 61 When they had passed on (some distance), Moses said to his attendant: "Bring us our early meal; truly we have suffered much fatigue at this (stage of) our journey." 62 He said: Didst thou see, when we took refuge on the rock, and I forgot the fish - and none but Satan caused me to forget to mention it - it took its way into the waters by a marvel. 63 Moses said: "That is what we were looking for." So the two turned back, retracing their footsteps, 64 And they found a servant from among Our servants to whom we had given mercy from us and had taught him from Us a [certain] knowledge. 65 Musa said unto him: shall I follow thee that thou mayest teach me of that which thou hast been taught a directive knowledge. 66 He (Khidr) said: "Verily! You will not be able to have patience with me! 67 "And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?" 68 Said Moosa, “Allah willing, you will soon find me patient and I will not do anything against your instructions.” 69 He said, "Then if you follow me, do not ask me about anything until I make to you about it mention." 70

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
