۞ And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. 23 And lower unto them the wing of meekness out of mercy, and say: O my Lord! have mercy on the twain even as they brought me up when young. 24 Your Lord knoweth best what is in your hearts: If ye do deeds of righteousness, verily He is Most Forgiving to those who turn to Him again and again (in true penitence). 25 So give to your relatives what is their due, and to those who are needy, and the wayfarers; and do not dissipate (your wealth) extravagantly. 26 Lo! the squanderers were ever brothers of the devils, and the devil was ever an ingrate to his Lord. 27 And if thou turnest away from them awaiting a mercy from thy Lord which thou hopest, then speak unto them a gentle speech. 28 And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent. 29 Surely thy Lord outspreads and straitens His provision unto whom He will; surely He is aware of and sees His servants. 30
